7TH VILNIUS INTERNATIONAL YOUTH MUSIC COMPETITION PREMIO SCARLATTI
1. The Vilnius International Youth Music Competition “Premio Scarlatti” is organised by the Musica
Vitale cultural association. The event is funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture and the Vilnius City
Municipality. The main partners of the event are National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Art in Vilnius and the
Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania.

2. The Competition will take place from 26 th to 30 th October 2024, at the National M. K. Čiurlionis School
of Art (T. Kosciuškos st. 11). The Main Prizewinners’ Concert will be held on 31st October 2024 in the
Great Renaissance Hall of the National Museum Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania.

3. The Competition is open to Classical music performers, from schools, gymnasiums, conservatoires and
higher education institutions of music and art, and also independent performers. It is made up of the
following sections: Piano Soloists, Soloists of String Instruments, Vocal Soloists and Chamber Music
Ensemble.

Conditions

The soloist programmes must be performed by memory. Contestants are not required to fill the maximum
duration for each category. Participants are divided into categories according to age.

Prizes in the competition

❖ Absolute First Prize GRAND PRIX in the Piano Soloists Junior, A, B categories (1 prize): 200 Euros,
Trophy and Diploma.
❖ Absolute First Prize GRAND PRIX in the Piano Soloists C, D categories (1 prize): 300 Euros, Trophy
and Diploma.
❖ Absolute First Prize GRAND PRIX in the Piano Soloists E category: 700 Euros, Trophy and Diploma.
❖ Absolute First Prize GRAND PRIX in the String Instruments C, D categories (1 prize): 300 Euros,
Trophy and Diploma.
❖ Absolute First Prize GRAND PRIX in the String Instruments E category: 700 Euros, Trophy and
Diploma.
❖ The Absolute First Prize GRAND PRIX in the Chamber Music Ensemble A, B Categories (1 prize): 200
Euros, Trophy and Diploma.
❖ The Absolute First Prize GRAND PRIX in the Chamber Music Ensemble C, D Categories (1 prize): 400
Euros, Trophy and Diploma.
❖ The Absolute First Prize GRAND PRIX in the Chamber Music Ensemble E Category: 900 Euros,
Trophy and Diploma.
❖ Absolute First Prize GRAND PRIX in the Vocalist C, D categories (1 prize): 300 Euros, Trophy and
Diploma.
❖ Absolute First Prize GRAND PRIX in the Vocalist E category (1 prize): 700 Euros, Trophy and
Diploma.
❖ All competitors who receive First, Second and Third prizes in every category: Medal and Diploma with
scores. Participants who scored less than 79 points will receive Merit Diplomas with scores.
❖ A Diploma for the teacher with the most awarded students.
❖ A SPECIAL PRIZE for the youngest contestant.
❖ PREMIO SCARLATTI for the best performance of a piece by an Italian composer: 300 Euros and
Diploma.
❖ PREMIO VIRTUOSITA for the best performance of a virtuoso piece or etude: 300 Euros and Diploma.
PREMIO ALESSANDRO SCARLATTI for the best historically informed vocal piece performance by
Alessandro Scarlatti: Diploma and masterclasses offered by “Coin du Roi – Société d’Opéra” (Milano,
Italy).
❖ For the Absolute Grand Prix winner: one-year contract offered by International Artist Management
Agency BAMA (Italy).
❖ For the Grand Prix winner: a Concert Prizes offered by the Lithuanian National Philharmonic Society,
the Kaunas State Philharmonic, the Klaipėda Concert Hall, 2025/2026 concert season.
❖ For those with the highest scores in Pianist categories C, D and E: a scholarship for participation in the
Winter Academy of Feuerwerk 2025 of the Association TangoBrücke (Einbeck, Germany).
❖ For the Grand Prix winner: a Concert Prizes offered by Pordenone Center for Cultural Initiatives in
the 48 Festival MUSICAINSIEME 2025 (Pordenone, Italy).
❖ For the Grand Prix winner: a Concert Prize offered by the Italian Association Terra Gialla in the 2025
Wanda Landowska Festival and Competition (Terlizzi, Italy).
❖ For the Grand Prix winner: a Concert Prize offered by ARS Lituanica in the 2024/2025 Christmas in
Vilnius Festival.
