BUBENÍČEK BALLET MASTERCLASSES 2025
After two great and successful editions held in Český Krumlov as part of the Music Festival
Krumlov, this year the Bubeníček Ballet Masterclasses will be held for the first time in Prague, from
August 6 to 17. Participants will train in the beautiful ballet studios of the State Opera Theatre. The
program offers a unique opportunity for dancers to engage in ballet classes, variations,
contemporary classes, and more, guided by world-class instructors.

A special highlight of the masterclasses is the 2nd International Ballet Gala, taking place on
August 16 and 17 at the prestigious Theatre Hybernia, located truly in the heart of the historical
city, Old Prague. Renowned choreographer Jiří Bubeníček will create an exclusive choreography
for the students, which they will perform during this glamorous event. The gala will also feature
performances by international stars from elite companies.


UNIQUE CONCEPT
The Masterclasses combine the wisdom and experience of great internationally known established ballet masters and with the fresh perspectives of accomplished dancers still actively performing on stage. This dual approach ensures that students benefit from the vast knowledge of older generations while also learning from the vibrant, contemporary experience of artists currently living their careers.
Moreover, the masterclasses are not just about perfecting the technique of dance. They focus on
artistry - helping dancers become true artists who can move and inspire audiences.

JIŘÍ BUBENÍČEK - Artistic Director and choreographer
Artistic Director of Les ballets Bubeníček, Ballet Masterclasses and International Ballet Gala, holds a Master’s degree in Dance Teaching. A former Principal Dancer with the Hamburg Ballet and Semperoper Ballet, and an accomplished choreographer, Jiří Bubeníček, M.A., has created over 70 works, primarily full-length narrative ballets, for renowned ballet companies worldwide.

FLORENCE CLERC - International Ballet Star Teacher, Former Étoile with Paris Opera
Former Étoile of the Paris Opera Ballet, Florence Clerc is renowned for her iconic performances in Swan Lake, Giselle, and Sleeping Beauty. She has worked as a Ballet Master at the Paris Opera Ballet and re-staged masterpieces by Rudolf Nureyev.

YANNICK BOQUIN - International Ballet Star Teacher
A distinguished former principal dancer, Yannick Boquin has performed with companies such as the Royal Ballet of Flanders, Rome Opera Ballet, or Deutsche Oper Berlin and many others. As an international ballet teacher, he collaborates with leading ballet companies worldwide.

REBECCA BIANCHI - Étoile with Teatro dell’Opera di Roma
Graduated from the Teatro alla Scala Academy in Milan in 2009. Soon after, she joined the Corps de Ballet of the Rome Opera, selected by the legendary Carla Fracci. Under the leadership of Eleonora Abbagnato, she was named étoile in 2017 after her performance in “Giselle“.

JAVIER ROJAS - Ballet Star Dancer Winner of the Amici TV Dance Competition in Italy, Javier Rojas is a wonderful dancer with the Royal Birmingham Ballet. Representing the younger generation of dancers, he will teach several classes during the masterclasses and perform at the prestigious gala in Prague.
